Task Based English – Using English in real situations

Task Based Learning is great fun…  AND  extremely useful for your English skills.

 

This is just an example: tasks change week to week. 

30 minute conversation with coffee: 

This is an opportunity for English learners to practice their English in a REAL situation using practical English. You can speak English in the classroom, but can you speak English outside the classroom?

 

This example is called “Meet Eric the Film Maker”

 

Task 3

In this task you are requested to meet an American film maker named Eric. Eric is in Barcelona searching for locations for his latest film named “BCN 2012”.

 

Available  – At the weekends / Tuesday after 6pm. 

 

You need to get answers to the following questions:

(please prepare your questions before the meeting)

What is the film about? What is the plot?

What is the film budget?

What locations does he like and which locations can you  recommend based on question No.1?

How long does he estimate the project will take?

How many people are involved in the production and what does each person do?.

 

 

RULES:

 

RULE 1 : YOU MUST SPEAK ENGLISH ONLY !

RULE 2: YOU MUST SPEAK ENGLISH ONLY !

RULE 3 : DON’T SPEAK CASTELLANO OR CATALAN !!!

 

Post Call Email.

 

When you have finished the email you have to write an email detailing the information acquired and any additional experiences !
